Sharks!

Sharks are a kind of fish that live in every ocean around the world. Scientists think that sharks lived 200 million years before the dinosaurs. That is a long time ago! Teeth of a giant shark that lived millions of years ago. There are many different types of sharks. See if you can tell which shark is a hammerhead shark, which is a tiger shark and which is a great white shark. Sharks come in all different sizes. The whale shark is the biggest fish in the world. It can grow to be 45 feet long. Other sharks can be small, like the leopard shark. The smallest sharks are only seven inches long. Some sharks are born live but others hatch from an egg case. Baby sharks are called pups. A mother shark doesn't take care of her babies after they are born. They have to take care of themselves. Sharks are deadly predators, which means that they hunt and eat other animals like fish, seals and even other sharks. Great white sharks eat five hundred pounds of meat every day!
